Nazira Albargothy is an early-career researcher and a science communicator with a passion to defeat Alzheimer’s disease. She completed her PhD in the Faculty of Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience in 2017 where she developed our understanding of the neuroanatomical pathways involved in the entry and clearance of drugs and toxins from the brain. Her work was supported by a pharmaceutical company and is key for the development of treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders including multiple sclerosis and brain tumours. Nazira was the 3-minute thesis national champion of 2016 and has received significant recognition from the EU and Middle East for her science presentations. Home page @NAlbargothy
